Jacob von Sternberg aka Anutu is a very versatile, international artist with German American roots, known for his polytonal paintings. Jacob lives with his husband in Berlin, Munich, Malta, and London. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in public venues and galleries throughout Europe, including the German version of the "Love Boat Series" on board MS Deutschland and other internationally operating cruise ships, and private yachts.
In 2014 Tony Ward dedicated a full photo shooting to Jacob. Highlighting von Sternberg's wearable art and paintings. This homage includes two portraits of Jacob. The series was later published worldwide.
His polytonal paintings have sculptural character. His interior design works are lovingly called "Artetecture" by some of his clients. Jacob travelled the world in search of his family. The essence of unity is reflected in his abstract figurative art. He eventually achieved the healing of generations through his relentless search and longing to reunite his family on two continents. He calls this miracle a gift of God and the essence of the global generational consciousness.
„This is no story of death and grief. It is a story of love and learning. This is a story of reunion and how a forced separation for more than forty years was healed by a miracle.“ These are the first words of Jacobs movie script in progress.

He is convinced that just now, in this time, this story needs to be told.
His polytonal paintings tell multifarious stories inspired by the essence of the Global Generational Consciousness and his expedition around the world. Polytonal art!
"In the past I learned how to get out of my comfort zone frequently. I love to be astonished by my own work. I don't want to sound snobbish in any way, but I truly think that cultivating this inner source of inspiration brings freedom to an artist. Allowing to observe my inner core, with all, truly and honestly, all consequences, is important in my eyes. Observing this core without letting the ego intervene or distract. Or in certain moments even allow the ego to tell the story. But, with the awareness that it's the ego that plays under full control."
Many of Jacob's paintings have a sculptural character. Multiple levels of information result from the inclusion of the broken edges of the wood in the overall composition. With appropriate illumination, a further level is added by the deliberately staged play of the resulting shadows.
Jacob's art is eco aware and created with vegan art supplies. His art is made in absolute awareness of limited global resources. Because life matters!
Closeness Flow
Polytonal Series
With an academic background in History of Art, Physics, and Philosophy, Jacob is deeply interested in the use of art as actionable events within theories of knowledge.
"Infinite possibilities! Capsulated within hovers the the core of the infinite truth. Those moments that flow and vanish very fast.
Without thinking, without fear of failure. Without what people might think about the manifestation, the creation. The moment. Living with the awareness that I have done absolutely everything possible to follow my true path, to manifest my passion. Show your edges, show your passion, always."
